March 7th, 2009 · No Comments

The Miele S7 Bolero represents the advancement of Miele upright vacuum cleaners over the last 70 years. The S7 comes fully loaded with features that make vacuuming simple and effortless, this vacuum has come a long way. Putting the vacuum to use is wonderful, with a carry handle to move it around, and the ergonomic handle makes using it comfortable. The 50-ft cord lets you move from room to room without having to changing which room you plugged the vacuum into, and the long hose allows for above the floor cleaning with ease.

While the cord and hose are great features, perhaps some of the best features of this vacuum are right down on the floor with the carpet. The S7 has built in digital controls for adjusting the power settings of the vacuum, giving you the choice of what settings to use depending on the floor you are cleaning. The automatic setting is ideal to let the vacuum choose for you, choosing the most efficient and energy-saving settings. The self adjusting carpet brush lets the S7 automatically adjust the height of the brush so no matter what floor you are cleaning, the roller-brush is always at thee right height.

The casters under the S7 allow easy movement of the vacuum from area to area, but the most innovative part of this machine is the swivel head. The S7 features a swivel neck that allows the vacuum to be maneuvered around object with extreme ease, and combined with casters makes straight line vacuuming a thing of the past. The S7 can get around corners with ease, and with 6 inches of clearance, let you get under almost anything.

Which is better Miele or Dyson?

March 5th, 2009 · 1 Comment

Miele vacuums are known to be some of the best vacuum clearners available, but as of late, Dyson has developed what seems like the more consumer friendly alternative, perhaps because of their advertising campaign. But is the Dyson really the better vacuum? Some people are led to believe that a vacuum is  only as good as its suction power, but what most people fail to realize is that they are vacuuming dust and dirt, and a lot of the time, they are spewing it back into the air while they vacuum due to poor filtration.

ConsumerReporter, focused on researching vacuum cleaners and their quality put the Miele and Dyson up against each other, and the result was quite simple; the Dyson just does not cut it. The tests included suction power, vacuum capacity, and air filtration. The Dyson bag less vacuum has a relatively small capacity, with a canister that  can only be filled half way, and when it comes time to empty it, you are required to thrown it out into a bag. With the Miele, the vacuum canister is sealed, and the garbage is trapped inside of a bag, and all that is required of the user is to throw it away.

Probably the most remarkable difference is the filtration. One of the comparisons was a particle filtration comparison. The tester used a particulate meter, and tested both machines. The Dyson, it was found was not sealed, and blew air out of several places, and the readings were very high, while the Miele is completely sealed except for its exhaust, and the particulate meter showed a reading of zero, true HEPA standards of trapping at least 99.98% of particles to .03 microns.

The evidence is quite clear; Miele offers a full line of upright and canister vacuums made with high quality parts, and high standards to boot. With a Miele vacuum cleaner, you are getting some of the best machines on the market, and your quality of life won’t have to suffer for it either! With cleaning power like that and filtration as meticulous as the Miele’s HEPA filter, would you even consider the Dyson?
